A Family Business, A Village Tradition
Badsey Butchers has been part of village life for over 65 years. Behind the counter, it’s always been about more than selling meat — it’s knowing our customers, sharing a laugh and helping families put good food on the table.
We’re Chris and Hannah, and in June 2025, we proudly took over the business from Chris’s dad. It was the start of a new chapter for us, but a continuation of something Chris has cared about for most of his life. Having worked in the industry since he was just 13, he brings years of experience, practical knowledge and pride in his trade to the shop.
Alongside raising our young family, we’re putting our hearts into building a business our children can feel proud of. There are early starts, long days and plenty that happens behind the scenes, but seeing familiar faces return and new customers walk through the door makes that hard work worthwhile.
Being named Butcher of the Year 2026 — West Midlands has been an incredibly proud moment for us. To receive that recognition just over a year after taking over means so much, and it’s something we share with our hardworking team and every customer who has supported us. Every visit, recommendation and kind word has helped us get here.
The People Behind the Counter
A shop is only as good as the people who care for it, and we’re fortunate to have a brilliant team alongside us. Our manager, Dan, has been part of Badsey Butchers for over 15 years, bringing experience, familiar service and plenty of character to the counter.
Whether you need advice on a cut, help working out how much to buy or a few tips on cooking it, we’re always happy to help. We want you to leave with more than your shopping — we want you to feel welcome, looked after and confident about what you’re taking home.
A Community at Our Heart
One of the loveliest parts of being a village butcher is becoming a small part of people’s lives. From everyday family teas to Sunday roasts and Christmas dinners, it means a great deal to know that food we’ve prepared is being shared around your tables.
That support goes both ways. We’re proud to help local clubs, sponsor local sportspeople and contribute to raffles and community fundraising. This community supports our family business, and giving something back matters to us.
Looking Ahead
We work with a handful of trusted suppliers and take care over what we prepare, from our handmade favourites and family meat boxes to orders for local catering businesses.
We have plenty of hopes for the future, but at the heart of every plan is the same promise: quality meat, honest advice and a friendly face behind the counter.
